Home Features

  • The Main house is the newest home on this ranch. It's a well appointed and equipped 7-bedroom 9465 sq. ft. custom-built Sitka log home overlooking Straight Lake and built in 2008 as a sanctuary for the owner’s family and guests. It has only been used as a vacation home, not full time, so it feels like a 3 year old. It includes geothermal heating/AC, two step water purification, back up power generator, satellite phone and internet service. The other 6 homes can be used as a new owner sees fit except for the ranch manager’s home needed as part compensation for managing the herd of Black Angus beef cattle in the southwest corner of the property.
  • The Simon Lake House is approx. 4000 sq. ft. It's a custom-built log home that fronts on Simon Lake and offers world class rainbow trout fishing. It’s ready for your fly-fishing guests. It's a 3 level log home with numerous updates. A 95’ dock was added to enjoy the use of small boats, casting for trout, lounging on the dock, and swimming during season. The lake is a good size and an ideal habitat for rainbow trout so it was stocked years ago. They have grown over the years and the lake is now known as one of the best trout fishing lakes in B. C. It’s produced trout up to 17 pounds, so now aptly known as a trophy fishing lake.
  • SERVICES: Well Water gets treated after being sourced from several wells and further treated for the Main House and other buildings in the equestrian area. The Main House has additional water softening system and the other homes have their own systems. Provincially supplied electricity has backup with a separate diesel generator sufficient for power requirements while electrical service repairs are made.

Lot Features

  • The first property purchased in 2006 was several parcels with a total of approximately 1000 acres and included Straight Lake known as a flyway for migrating waterfowl. A perfect setting for a new 9,465 square foot Sitka Log home for his family and guests built in 2008.
  • After buying the initial 1000-acre property the owners attention looked further to adjoining properties and several other parcels were added for a total of 3906 acres plus 2019 acres of leased grasslands. Six of these properties had log homes the - Gate House, Black Valley House, Meadow House, Wrangler House, Outpost House, and Simon Lake house with lake frontage. All are situated on separate locations on the sprawling acreage. Four of these homes were built as dream vacation homes so all are good size with kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
  • The four Lakes on the land include: Straight Lake with 19,650 feet of lake frontage; Simon Lake 13,550 feet of lake frontage; Roundup Lake; and Milch Lake. All offering habitat for water foul and world class rainbow trout fishing.
  • ALR zoning, Canadian tax regulations, and the size of the assembled properties enable the owner to use any portion of the property to raise cattle. (NOTE that an owner must sell a minimum of 20 head of cattle per year to maintain farm tax status.) An area of approximately 2000 adjoining acres were leased for a nominal fees of $500 per year and used to grow hay for feed to accommodate up to 200 head – Black Angus or other breeds. Healthy happy animals double the heard every year. This increase in stock allows enough cattle to be sold every year to offset the cost of a full-time manager and pay most of the expenses to operate the ranch. As the Ranch is now for sale the herd has been downsized to 35 head. Cattle currently sell for $1,600 to $1,800 per head depending on feed and breed.

Horse Facility Features

  • The owner’s daughter loved horses, so a horse lovers dream equestrian center was built in a separate area adjacent to the Main home with associated buildings for hay storage, with 10 stables, tack room, horse washing area, lunchroom, open and covered riding arenas, Wrangler’s Cottage, and paddocks. It could accommodate up to 100 horses. Lippitt Morgan horses were raised here for their beauty, heritage and disposition.
  • The exercise area includes a sprinkler mist system to minimize dust. It also included a mechanical shop, staff quarters, and an adjoining wranglers’ cottage.
