The owner appropriately refers to this property as: “THOUSAND PINES MOUNTAIN RANCH” (TPMR). As the names suggest, TPMR is located on a beautiful (49.85 acre) mountainous property unlike any other. The lower portion of the land is forested with only a small fraction of the wind there, compared to the typical windy Ellensburg property. The upper portion of the land is mostly treeless, all of which has expansive views. A fully permitted 4X4 trail has been created that leads from the front door of the home, up 600’ in elevation to the top of your very own mountain. At the top of the mountain (3630’ elevation) a spectacular & everchanging view awaits, including views of Mt Adams & Mt Ranier. The highest point for miles at the top with a generous flat area (around 1-acre) to take in the unobstructed 360-degree view. In addition to the 4X4 trail, there are miles of animal trails leading throughout the property, in & out of the trees, for hiking and exploration.
LOCATION:
TPMR is located out away from town in Secret Canyon and within the Elkhorn Ranch community consisting of thirty, 50-acre ranch parcels. About 20 miles to downtown Ellensburg form TPMR yet still, just two hours from Seattle. It is almost unheard of to have pavement lead all the way to the edge of a parcel this size unless it is on a busy highway, but this one does have a quiet private paved road leading all the way to the entrance to TPMR. Although the community HOA does not condone hunting on any of its ranch parcels, TPMR is just footsteps from a private access point to one of largest DNR lands in Washington (about 1,000,000-acres+-) where hunting & shooting are allowed. This immense DNR land stretches all the way east to the Columbia River & all the way north to Wenatchee. In addition, TPMR is just 45 minutes from “World Class Wines & Performances” at the Cave-B winery/resort & The Gorge Amphitheatre.
SETTING:
Once at the entrance to TPMR, you will pass through the automated front gate, go over a substantial bridge then the barn & stables will be on your left. A circular drive goes all the way around the structures so pick either right or left at the barn & it will lead you to the home nestled in the park-like setting. About 1/2-acre of fully sprinklered, lush green grass, surround the home and a tree house in place to boot. The north border of TPMR & private paved road parallel the seasonal Caribou Creek which is very active in the spring/early summer then, it usually dries up by the first part of July through the Fall. TPMR is surrounded by Pine Trees and the beautiful canyon topography. It looks & smells more like Sunriver/Bend Oregon than Ellensburg in general. It is an outdoors persons paradise with endless activities. The dark skies in Secret Canyon make this a star gazing paradise as well.
